Breno is an undergraduate in Civil Engineering at Escola Politécnica, University of São Paulo (Brazil) and has recently finished his Master’s degree in Urbanism, Transportation and Systems at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon (Portugal), in a Double Degree Programme between the two universities.
His dissertation, entitled “Assessing Pedestrians’ Perception of the Urban Environment in Different Times of the Day”, assessed the perception of people of the urban environment in order to propose reallocation of urban street space. It was developed in the scope of the project Streets4All.
In the past, he has worked on some projects in the transportation field, specifically with macro-modelling simulations and Origin-Destination Matrix estimation.
Breno’s current research interests are related to active mobility, urbanism and land use. One of his great aspirations is to help cities become more sustainable, drifting away from car dependence.
