Margarida Leite is a final-year student in the Civil Engineering
master’s degree. Her specialization is in Urbanism, Transports and Systems at Instituto Superior Técnico.

Currently, she is working on her thesis, which focuses on the dynamic allocation of road space in urban areas of Lisbon, with the goal of optimizing public spaces. There is still much work to be done in this regard, as in the current scenario, urban space is often underutilized – Streets and avenues that experience congestion during peak hours are often not fully utilized during off-peak hours. This topic is particularly fascinating to her as it allows exploration and development of innovative solutions that can be implemented.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Margarida played basketball for 10 years and became the national champion in 2016/2017.
