Madalena Santos obtained her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico.

Currently pursuing a master’s degree in Transport System in the same institution, she works as a research assistant specializing in active mobility within the Civil Engineering department. Here, not only she had the opportunity of learning to programme in R software for analysing data related to cycling transportation, but also developed her critical thinking skills on strategies and measures to encourage the use of sustainable means of mobility, whether cycling or walking.

Madalena is also an enthusiastic volunteer at a nongovernmental organization, Just a Change, where she contributes to building homes for individuals in need.
